Gypsy Wood Park
There aren’t many sites where you can blend the mystique of fairies, the allure of animals, and the raw wilderness of 20 acres of gorgeous natural woodland, but that’s exactly what they do at Gypsy Wood Park, which is why they’re one of Wales’s best-kept secrets. Gypsy Wood Park, which opened in 2004, is a one-of-a-kind North Wales destination that the whole family will enjoy. At our outdoor park in the foothills of Snowdonia in North Wales, there’s plenty to see and do, and we’re a must-see attraction for animal, nature, outdoor, train, and fairy fans.

Simba
The narrative of Gypsy Wood begins with Simba, a remarkable little horse
In 1997, animal enthusiasts John and Christine, who had spent most of their professional (and married) lives in the licensing industry, adopted Simba, a sad little horse with broken forelegs who couldn’t walk correctly. They solicited the services of their local veterinarian, Dewi, who warned John and Christine that while he could help them improve Simba’s legs, they would have to commit to caring for this wonderful little pony for the next 30 years or more! This, however, was no deterrent to John and Christine, who resolved to give Simba a wonderful existence, no matter how brief.
They are committed to impart a little joy and enchantment at Gypsy Wood. Their success is measured not in pounds and cents, but in the lives we have changed.
