Anglesey – the activity island

Anglesey – the activity island

Anglesey, a Welsh island set in a Celtic sea against the backdrop of the ancient mountains of Snowdonia, boasts a 125 mile coastline with mighty cliffs that provide challenging opportunities for climbers, a haven for nesting birds, and beautiful sandy beaches which offer a watersports playground.

The Anglesey coastline will provide visitors of all abilities and energies with a colossal array of activities and adventures: abseiling, coasteering, kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, surfing, kite surfing, walking the Anglesey Coastal Path and more. The island also boasts great variety for fishing with sea, course and game fishing available. Inland there is no end of country pursuits, including game hunting, clay pigeon shooting – all available in stunning locations.

Motor sports are also catered for with a karting circuit on the island and motor racing at Ty Croes. Horse riding, orienteering, cycling and mountain biking – there are two National Cycling Network routes and four local routes on the island which encourage exploration of the narrow lanes, magnificent views, historic sites and sheltered bays. Anglesey has a wealth of unspoilt resources within its compact overall dimensions.

In partnership with Adventure Elements, Coastal Holidays can offer an adventure package which includes accommodation, walking and mountaineering expeditions, sea kayaking and other adventure activities – contact us for more details.
