Fort Belan, Belan House, beach front location, pets welcome, ideal large group accommodation.
The fortress by the sea comprises six cottages in a Historic Fort. Stylish and comfortable accommodation for up to 45 people, an excellent place for families and groups. Open all year around. Registered for weddings and civil ceremonies.
Belan House has two bedrooms upstairs and two down. On entering the blue and white painted hall, the door on the left leads to a large and very comfortable sitting room with an open fireplace. There is a baby grand piano in one corner. The two windows overlook the peaceful courtyard garden and the large arched doorway of the fort’s galleried music room.
The door to the right of entrance leads to a pleasing panelled dining room with its oval mahogany dining table and open fireplace. Beyond is a modern kitchen with wood fronted units. There is a washing machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer.
There is a cloakroom with toilet and washbasin under the stairs in the hall.
At the end of the hall a door leads to the left into a long corridor. The bathroom, which has the usual facilities, and shower over the bath is to be found here. An unexpected right-angled bend leads to two bedrooms. The first is known as the ‘bunk room’ as it has two bunk beds and one single. The bunks are ideal for children. The second room is a double bedded room and is known to us as the ‘Royal Bedroom’ as members of the Royal Family have slept there in the past. There is a lovely view from here taking in the length of the courtyard.
Upstairs the balconied landing overlooks the hall and leads to two bedrooms which have a connecting door, the double-bedded room being accessed via the twin bedded room. The rooms have washbasins and are quaintly but comfortably furnished. The ceilings slope down and are very low on one side. There is a beautiful view from both these bedrooms of the sand dunes and sea and across the water to the Isle of Anglesey and the distant lighthouse on Llanddwyn island.

A family holiday in Belan House
Unique place to stay, a great place for a family get together, very clean with everything you needed. Loved the wheelbarrow touch, the deckchairs and the welcoming flowers on arrival. You needed a car but a nice beach not to far away for the younger members of the party. The whole site was well planned and beautiful laid out with flowers and lawns, wish we could have stayed longer. – perhaps next year!!
Unique get away
Belan fort is a real find. If you are looking for something different with real history, stunning surroundings with peace and quiet then look no further. Within a 30 min drive you find yourself in the beautiful town of Carnarfon with its stunning castle and beautiful architecture. Drive for a further 30 minutes and your be waterfall hopping in Snowdonia or swimming in fresh water lakes (wetsuit strongly advised) at the foot of an old quary. Truly magical holiday regardless of the British weather. Thoroughly recommend it!
Fort Belan House wekeend stay
Fabulous for a large party, book a few houses, space, peace, historical building.
Make sure you take all you need as you are a good 10 mins from any shops.
Would definitely stay here again.
Great for the beach, Snowdonia and touring NW Wales
We loved it.
Fascinating spot, nice big weird old place. Suited us very well, very safe and fun for the children. Amazing beaches close by. The location might not suit everyone but we loved it. Owners couldn’t have been nicer.
