Things to do / Places to Visit nearby
Rhosneigr beaches – Winner of of the Green Coast seaside award, Rhosneigr lies on Anglesey’s Western shore. With its two broad , sandy beaches, Traeth Crigyll and Traeth Llydan, it is a popular centre for all watersports. Rhosneigr is superb for walking on the beach, with rocky outcrops and dramatic sand dunes.
Llyn Maelog Lake – A small shallow lake and fringing reedbeds trapped behind the dunes of Tywyn Llyn common land at Rhosneigr. The lake supports good numbers of wintering coot and other wildfowl and some stay to breed in the reedbeds and islands. A public footpath circumnavigates the lake (except for the southernmost shore) and is linked to footpaths leading to Rhosneigr, and the area to the east around Llanfaelog. The Anglesey Coastal Path is accessible from a footpath to the south side of the lake, via a link which leads through the Tywyn y Llyn sand dunes.
The Oyster Catcher – Located by the sandy dunes of Rhosneigr, just a few minutes’ walk from the award winning Broad Beach (Traeth Llydan), The Oyster Catcher is the ultimate beachside destination for superior gastro pub fare

Both the cottage and the location were perfect for us(family of four + doggo). Walking distance to everything you need and 6/7 miles drive from a big range of supermarkets in Holyhead. Rhosneigr itself has great Cafe’s, great beaches and a great pub/eateries especially the chilled beach bar/restaurant The Oystercatcher.

We are frequent visitors to this coast and this is a real gem of a find. It has everything needed for an enjoyable break. Good location nice and quiet(also great for looking at the jets). The soft furnishings are very tasteful and lots of attention to detail ,plenty of crockery, coat hangers ,comfy beds, even spare hoodies should you need them for a trip to the beach. If we were being ‘picky’ the rear of the property is not totally enclosed and would suggest the relocation of the key safe. This is really a lovely bungalow which ticks all the holiday boxes.

I have stayed at this accommodation several times over the years and without doubt would recommend. As other visitors have mentioned the hosts have clearly invested heavily in the property and it is of a high spec whilst also feeling homely. I have primarily used the accommodation as a base for walking, with fantastic walks from the property itself – rhosneigr to aberffraw coastal path being a particular favourite with the beautiful landscape and lookouts to sea! It is also within easy driving distance to the beginning of the llanberis path up snowdon. A short walk from the property you can find both high and mid end eateries as well as a fantastic chippy (which is perfect after a long slog up a mountain when you just want to relax in your comfies ‘at home’)The Sandy mount is also a particular favourite with great food and being dog friendly. Will undoubtedly be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Cryd y Nant in Rhosneigr. its location is second to none, just one street away from the incredible North Beach and looking out over to the fields and hills and lake beyond from the back garden. The house itself is incredibly well equipped and done to high spec. it even has under floor heating! perfect from coming in from a rainy walk in the ever-changing weather! There are 2 bathrooms with excellent showers and the kitchen is very modern and absolutely spotless. we loved the sunny position of the lounge with the bi-folding doors out to the patio which is not overlooked as end of road. The sofas are really comfy and its super peaceful to rest with a cuppa and a good book at the end of a long day sightseeing. Rhosneigr itself has everything you need with a really good convenience store, a number of places for lunch and coffee (we would recommend Mojo’s for brekkie and brunch!) and if you are up for some kitesurfing there is lots available at the surf shop just down the road. The rest of Anglesey is really easily accessible and we would highly recommend taking an afternoon to visit Beaumaris (20 mins away) for really pretty shops and seafront.
