Aberech Beach – This fine stretch of sand is really just an extension of Pwllheli beach, which runs from the village to the headland of Penychain. It is generally quieter than Pwllheli with the added bonus of having somewhat finer sand. As well as being a great family beach Abererch Sands is also popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers along with anglers.
Portmeirion – is an enchanting Italianate style village on the coast of North Wales.
Glasfryn Park – Fun filled family day out North Wales. There’s something for everyone from GoKarting, Segways, Wakeboarding, Ten Pin Bowling and more.
Abersoch beaches – Abersoch on the Llyn Peninsula has a wonderful selection of beaches

Stayed here for long weekend with husband, two daughters, mother and mother in law, to celebrate 2 family birthdays. The property is in a lovely location situated in an elevated spot so you have a clear view of the sea, (10 minutes walk away). Nice beach, not too busy, even managed to have a swim. The bungalow is well appointed and kitchen has everything you could ask for. Beds/bedding very comfy. It has a large family sized lounge with lovely view towards the coast. Large, gas BBQ with ample outdoor seating/loungers. The hot tub was delightful in the evening, under the stars. This is a large, spacious property in large gardens providing privacy. Barrie was an excellent host and allowed us early access and also late departure as change over was a day later. We had a lovely time at Gorwel and certainly recommend++.
We were staying in Pwllheli for a sailing event, we had a stunning view from the lounge of the bay and the sailing ! The hot tub is fabulous, the view whilst bubbling, the owners even provide an outdoor fridge and glasses for use whilst in and around the tub, with a summer house and canopy catering for the hot and cold weather. The accommodation is spacious, even have black out blinds so little ones sleep better, the kitchen really is home from home it contains everything including a washing machine and tumble dryer ! Loads of parking and fabulous hosts.
The owners Barrie and Joan have clearly put a lot of thought, time and effort into making this the perfect holiday let. The house was spotless and the hot tub and beautiful grounds were added bonuses. As there were 10 of us, we had also booked the bedroomed annexed to the owners’ house. This is very large and comfortable and close to the main house. Everything we needed was at the property including binoculars to enjoy the lovely view from the lounge window whatever the weather! The location is great with easy walking to the beach and plenty to visit locally. I would recommend this to everyone and I hope we can return there soon – I miss it already! We also miss Joan’s lovely bara brith cake.
We would highly recommend Gorwel: the accommodation was even better than we anticipated. It was incredibly well equipped, lots of space to spread out, had every modern convenience and simultaneously retained its traditional charm and character. Barrie was the perfect host and made us feel extremely welcome. Our group spanned three generations and we all agreed we would like to visit again.
Gorwel was heavenly. It has everything. Barrie and Joan keep an immaculate house that is even better equipped than some homes. It scores a definite 5 star from us.
It is hidden away and peaceful but still very accessible to road and rail. Ideal for day trips out.
The hot tub is an amazing place to spend your evenings staring up at the stars and the grand views of the sea.
Hope to visit again, highly recommended!
This cottage has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. You will find everything you need from tablets for washing machine and dishwasher to bathrobes for your jump into the lovely hot tub on the sun terrace with a great view over the sea.
Beds and sofas are very cosy. You can enjoy your days in a spacious garden with several sun chairs, a garden house with toys for children and a grill.
The owner is very friendly and forthcoming and easy to contact when needed.
You have an 15 min walk to the beach and several nice places to visit are in reach.
We loved it there and are planing to come back!
Gorwel has everything – perfect situation overlooking the sea on the Llyn Peninsula and every luxury that you could require in the cottage. Furnishings and fittings are to the highest spec, gardens are amazing and the view from the hot tub is out of this world. Surrounding area is perfect for holidaying – coast and mountains are on the doorstep. This was our 10th visit and we can’t wait to return.
This is our 5th consecutive year.It is home from home. Fantastic views all you need for a relaxing holiday. With Pwllheli 5 mins drive where there are lots of places to eat, supermarkets for daily shopping also a market. The beach is walking distance from the house. The hot tub proved to be a winner. Would recommend and will be returning.
We have just returned from our third year at Gorwel. We absolutely love it there. It is so relaxing. The house is perfect for us, it is spotlessly clean and has everything you need and more! The garden is lovely with a spectacular view. There are several different seating areas and the addition of the hot tub this year made it extra special. I’ll bet there isn’t another place in this country with a view from a hot tub like that! As always, our welcome was warm and friendly and Barrie is always very helpful. Needless to say we have booked again for next year. Thank you Barrie and Joan for another lovely holiday
