It is located on the north coast of the island and is a good starting point for cliff walking. There is a nature reserve at Cemlyn to the west and Church Bay further along the coast attracts many visitors.
At the eastern end of the village is a broad, flat, sandy beach which offers a great venue for sunbathing, swimming and water sports.

The large airy lounge contains one 3-seater settee and one 2-seater settee, cream leather armchairs (one recliner) , a 32in TV equipped with Freeview and a DVD player. There is an attractive fireplace with elegant fire surround and a log burning stove. A selection of games and books is available from the cabinet beneath the TV but the view from the large patio doors is so captivating that it is difficult to concentrate on anything else. The new balcony offers views over the sea and beach.
The King size double bed has matching bedside cabinets, two chests of drawers and a wardrobe. The room is enhanced by the decorative fireplace and surround, competing for attention with the views of the sea and the village.
The bunk room has a double at the bottom and the top is a standard single. There is also a chest of drawers and a wardrobe.
**New mattresses on all beds in the top flat for the 2019 season.**
The family bathroom contains a full-size bath, a shower over the bath, a toilet, a hand basin and a heated towel rail.

Cemaes Bay Harbour and beach – Cemaes is a gorgeous, unspoilt coastal village on the North coast of Anglesey, the most northerly village in Wales with a lovely little harbour and a wide sandy beach.
Llyn Alaw – Enjoy a stroll along this large Anglesey reservoir. It covers 770 acres and has a number of walking trails along the water. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a destination for over-wintering birds. There are also wildflowers, butterflies and bird hides where you can look out for the variety of birds that visit the lake.
Melin Llynnon Mill – Melin Llynnon, or Llynnon Mill, is a gristmill located on the outskirts of the village of Llanddeusant on the island of Anglesey. It is the only surviving working windmill in Wales. Lovely homemade food in the cafe.

What an amazing place to stay. Everything you could possible need for a home from home fee.
We were made to feel so welcome – Thank you Nigel. The views are wonderful, we sat hours in the sunroom just looking out, watching the birds.
To our absolute delight this morning we watched porpoise in the bay for nearly an hour. Amazing!
This will be a treasured memory. Would love to visit again in the near future. Thank you again.
We steyed here for 3 nights to see in the New year. The accommodation is warm and comfortable with lovely seaside touches throughout. The master bedroom has been redone and it is lovely. The children’s room is a great size and WiFi was welcomed in the cosy evenings in. The log burner was wonderful, kitchen well stocked perfect for preparing a meal to eat in the dining room with stunning views. Loads of towels which was great! The children delighted in hopping over the garden wall onto the beach to explore. We spent hours crabbing, building sandcastles, collecting sea glass , skimming stones on our ‘own beach’ . There is also a great coastal walk to do. We will definitely be back!
Perfect place to stay for a couple or small family. The views from the balcony were outstanding, the bed the comfiest I have ever slept on, and on top of that an excellent log burner. Direct access down some rocks onto the beach and less than 10 minutes walk to friendly pubs and a shop serving everything you could need. Just perfect.
Great location – lovely accomodation
We wanted a quiet location with easy access to walks. The property is ideally located by the beach with views across the bay. You can join the Wales Coastal path from the back garden. Cemaes is a very quiet place out of season, just the 2 pubs, but this suited us. Would definitely recommend a stay at the Moorings as the property itself is very well presented, clean and cosy!
Family holiday at the moorings
We spent a lovely week here at the moorings despite the wind and the rain! The top flat is very comfortable with lovely views from the balcony.we used it as a haven from the constant activity going on in the downstairs flat where the rest of the family were busy perusing all manner of seaside activities which we could watch from the balcony.the whole flat is well equipped and very comfortable and we had a lovely relaxing holiday .
A lovely flat and location
23 June delightful weeks hol.
This flat was lovely and comfortable to stay in. Everything you need in the kitchen.
Fabulous views, great sitting on the veranda, having breakfast and tea at night.
Just beautiful walking into the sitting room looking straight out over the bay.
Takes your breath away. So much to gaze at and watch coming an going of boats
The garden is lovely and the steps over the wall. Plenty of seating outside.
The shed was handy for our bikes.
Lovely location to stroll round the bay or walk the cliff tops.
Plenty of places and beaches to visit.
Would love to return to this Flat.
The same as always – EXCELLENT
Can’t quite remember what number visit this was but think we are in double figures now.
Clean, comfortable, well equipped, warm & The Views . . . . . .
I think that says it all?
A blissful week.
We wanted to take a break that was restful and restorative and The Moorings – Top flat certainly enabled us to do that.
Once we had transported our luggage from the car, there are quite a few steps, we were settled.
The views are amazing, the flat offers all the amenities you need and is VERY comfortable.
There are a wide variety of walks that allow you to see the local places of interest and if you are in a car you have the whole of Angelsey to enjoy.
Menaes Bay has a fantastic fish & chip shop and butcher, there is a small supermarket and a well stocked pharmacy, there are a few friendly pubs two of which serve food. We travelled to Red Wharf Bay and had a very good lunch at The Ship.
We would certainly come again!
We stayed in the Top Flat at the Moorings in Cemaes Bay at the end of July and what a location! The views from nearly all windows were absolutely amazing. And what a fantastic surprise to find a brand new balcony and terrace had been created (the pictures on the website and on Trip Advisor don’t show this). This gave us outside access directly from the living room where we could soak up the views and the sunshine. Elsewhere, the flat was spacious and comfortable, providing a great base for our annual ‘bucket and spade’ holiday. The double bedroom was spacious with plenty of cupboard and drawer space and the smaller room provides exciting sleeping options for an 8 year old. The small bathroom, with shower over the bath, was easily accessed from either bedroom. Towels and bedlinen were provided (which was surprisingly not the case with other holiday rentals). The kitchen / dining area had a huge window overlooking the bay which provided great views and a great light for painting, drawing and playing games when the weather wasn’t too brilliant and besides a capacious fridge with proper freezer, ceramic hob and wall mounted oven, there’s a dishwasher and washing machine too. There were a few things we could have done with in the kitchen – a potato peeler/scraper and a small kitchen knife for instance, but otherwise we had everything we needed. Who wants to peel potatoes on their holidays anyway! As well as one day on the beach, our trips and entertainment included a fabulous cliff top walk from the doorstep to the Porth Wen brick works and then back along country lanes, a visit to the Sea Zoo, a wet afternoon at the very lovely cinema in Holyhead (great value for money, by the way, and thanks to Disney for timing the launch of BFG just perfectly), a shorter but interesting walk around the village and visits to several tea-shop stops including the Heritage Centre tea room on the High Street. The Top Flat at the Moorings was excellent value for money and Cemaes Bay has everything you need for a bucket and spade holiday – two beaches, a butcher, a baker, a convenience store, 2 pubs and a hotel serving food, a highly rated fish and chip shop, a couple of cafes and there are gift shops and a gallery.

The accommodation exceed our expectations in every way although a larger more up to date television would be appreciated for the days where the weather is not so good. The views over the bay are not only magnificent but also mesmerising.
My Sister and I had a wonderful stay at the moorings, there wasn’t a thing we would change. It was the first time we had been away together, since we were children, so it could have gone terribly pear shaped, but everything went easy from the moment we saw it on line, the booking was easy, in fact everything to do with holiday was perfect. Hope this is the first of many.
Lovely little apartment in a quiet sea side village
Very pleasant comfortable apartment with a lovey view across the bay. Kids had a great time collecting shells and flying kites on the beach which is in touching distance. Lovely place and we would certainly consider returning again for a short break. Beware of the path down the side of the house which can get slippy when wet.
Great short break
We had a great short break. The location is magnificent with gorgeous sweeping views of the bay. The apartment/flat is spotless and clean wt all u need
A few days away from it all.
The flat is very clean and comfortable, and well equipped with relaxing views.Nice coffee shop in the village The log fire ,nice in the evening with a glass or two of red, would we go again Yes…….
great view good location village near good pubs nice little cafes great craft shop very friendly good butchers in village lots of good walks we hope to come again soon my husband enjoyed fishing
Wonderful Accommodation, Setting and Countryside
We loved the view of the beach from the windows, with the tide coming in and out, and the terns bomb-diving for fish. The proximity to the coastal walking trails was great and we enjoyed the scenery on the trails immensely. The apartment was comfortable, clean and a pleasant place to be in. The village was small, but had interesting stores and restaurants. We used public busses to get around, and that worked out well. We would love to come again.
wonderful setting and well equipped
we had a lovely week staying in this property. it is in an excellent location with amazing views of the bay – it even has its own private steps onto the beach! it was very clean and well equipped, with toys, books and DVDs for the children. lovely garden, too. The only drawback is the tricky car parking spot – an uneven surface will scrape the bottom of your car if you’re not careful. However, there are plenty of free parking spaces just around the corner on the main road.
Absolutely love this apartment, have stayed 4 times in the last 18 months. Will visit again as soon as it’s available when we are. Everything is always spotless & in full working order. Very, very handy for the sea / fishing & no more than a 2 minute stroll to the village itself.
Weekend with Friends
We have just returned from a lovely weekend at this top class 2 bedroomed flat. The flat was well equipped with a kitchen/dining room/lounge. The kitchen had an electric hob/oven and microwave, there was a fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The kitchen/lounge overlooked the bay which was beautiful. There was a bathroom with bath/shower/toilet/wash basin, the first bedroom had bunk beds, the second bedroom had a double bed which overlooked the bay. There were steps up to the flat which were ok but I would not recommend for disabled person or elderly unless they can manage steep steps. The views at the flat were spectacular, the linen, towels were clean, the flat was spotless and I would definitely love to return again.
We had a lovely weekend away in Cemaes Bay & the Top Flat was perfect for our family. It is within walking distance of the beach, shops, park & coastal path. The Top Flat had wonderful views of the sea & we loved watching the tides change over the weekend.
Excellent holiday helped by the wonderful weather the accommodation was perfect, very clean, fully equipped with everything we needed for a self catering holiday. Planning to book again
Beautiful flat,central location,spectacular views
Lovely clean flat with all amenities.Possibly wi fi only extra that would improve on anything. Easy walking distance to shops and public houses /restaurants There is one car parking place at rear which is very tight to get in to.Because there are steps to flat entrance might be a bit difficult if infirm or disabled
Amazing views from the homely apartment!!
Wow – the views from this apartment are amazing – to watch the tide come in and out from the comfort of your armchair is great. There is everything that you need for a really relaxing stay and the log burning fire (complete with logs) makes it extra special. Local shops and pubs are all within a short walk. The Sunday Lunch in The Stag in the village is a must. We can’t wait to go back!!!!
“Superb location, friendly village”
My husband and I stayed at the Top Flat, The Moorings and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was superb and the views from the flat were fantastic. It was only a short distance to the shops, pubs etc, and the people were friendly. The only downside was the parking but it was much easier to park in the bay carpark and walk up to the flat. The flat was clean and tidy and very welcoming. We will definately visit again
Perfect flat and location
A quiet romantic retreat – tucked away in a small village with wonderful views of the bay. The accommodation was clean and well presented and we specially liked watching the tide come in and out each day and having a nightly wander around the quay. Cliff top walks enjoyed and the local shops and cafes. Not suitable for those less mobile as there is a flight of stone steps up to the property. If you want a quiet retreat with good walking this is the place for you.
Great View – complete relaxation
This was the second long weekend away at the Top Flat, The Moorings booked through Coastal Holidays and I intend to make it a third this year. The location couldn’t be better, overlooking beautiful Cemaes Bay. The accommodation is clean and well equipped, it has everything you need for a comfortable self catering holiday. There is a lovely garden which, weather permitting, is great to chill out in. The best thing about the property is the view from the lounge and dining kitchen – it really is exceptional. For a relaxing break the Top Flat, The Moorings is perfect. Gill, Sharon & Nathan
fabulous views, clean spacious apartment, perfect position
Lovely apartment which is ideally situated for travelling around the island. Superb garden and decking area, which is a little sun trap, with great views over Cemaes Bay. The Stag public house nearby for a good meal and pleasant hospitality.
A lovely weekend break
It was a very clean flat, the views from the kitchen and lounge were great, we loved sitting having breakfast watching the turns diving in the water.A nice sized kitchen with all you need, especially a good sized fridge freezer. Not far to go to do any shopping. We enjoyed walks in and around Cemaes Bay. We hope to return in the near future.Difficulty in accessing the parking
Superb flat with great views of the bay.
The top flat is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the sea and beach views which are right on the doorstep. The quiet village and harbour with a few pubs and shops are also easy to stroll to so you can leave the driving for a few days. We stayed for 5 nights, monday to sat and we did some cycling and coastal walks and found the nearby areas very picturesque though quite tough as it is very hilly so be prepared! The flat is well worth a visit and we hope to be back again to be mesmerised by the fascinating ebb and flow of the tide, the constantly changing views and interesing birdlife. The flat is very well equipped with modern kitchen appliances, thoughtful decor and some nice surprises included which was a bonus. I would recommend parking in front of the house at the free public car park rather than round the back as convenient so no need to drive up the steep drive which “bottomed” the car!
