About this listing
Felin y Foel was originally a mill. The upstairs window was put in to hide the line of the hoist. This and the woodwork in the lounge, the sky light in the roof apex and the unconventional access to the two upper rooms all echo its past use. There is an underground stream running along the back of the property which was once accessible using a well.

We were incredibly lucky to grab this property at short notice for a week in the summer holidays. The location is stunning, right on the Menai Strait with fantastic views over to Snowdonia from the conservatory. This is a peaceful spot, dark and quiet at night, great for bird watching. The house is spacious with plenty of seating areas and a really well equipped kitchen. We found plenty to do on Anglesey and particularly enjoyed visiting nearby Newborough Beach. Coastal Holidays could not have done more to help us so we would highly recommend Coastal Holidays as an agency as well as the property itself. We would not hesitate to book again.
We stayed in two of the three Foel Ferry Cottages for a week with a group of friends including 8 adults and four children, 3 of whom were under two. We went in the first week of August and while the rest of the world seemed to be in grid lock, Foel was an oasis of peace and quiet. The cottages are recently fitted out, with all mod cons, in a sympathetic style to the age and type of building. One travel cot and high chair were included within the cottages which greatly helped the packing!! The enclosed garden at the front is perfect for letting small children run round and we picked muscles and went crab fishing on the jetty opposite. Finally the view back over the Menai Straights at Snowdonia and Caernarfon Castle is one of the best you’ll find anywhere
