Chapel Bank, Pentraeth, Red Wharf Bay, dog friendly holiday cottage. Pentraeth is a small attractive village on the east coast of Anglesey between Llanddona beach and Red Wharf Bay, which has over 4.5 miles of sandy beach. Red Wharf Bay’s Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and provides safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. The large bay attracts a huge number of waterfowl and wading birds, including shell duck, grey plover, purple sandpipers, curlew, oystercatchers and dunlin. Only 15 minutes drive away is the delightful medieval town of Beaumaris which boasts a 13th century moated castle, excellent shops, pubs, restaurants, bistros and museums, as well as a golf course and exciting pleasure boat and sea fishing trips. This is a great location on the east coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, yet only six minutes from the Britannia Bridge to access the mainland.

Kitchen
The modern fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, microwave, fridge (with ice box), electric cooker and a radio.

Lounge
The comfortable modern lounge with wood flooring has a 3 seater sofa, 2 seater sofa and a chair. There is a TV with Freeview and a DVD player.

Dining Room
Beyond the kitchen is the spacious dining area with table and 8 chairs. A cosy glow is added to the room by the grey electric stove. There is also a 2 seater sofa and Veltech 32in TV with Freeview. The double doors lead out to the patio, great place for morning coffee!!

Upstairs

Bedroom 1
This spacious double bedroom with King size bed, looks out over the garden. There is plenty of room for a travel cot. Cupboard with shelves and hanging rail.

En-suite to bedroom 1
The en-suite has a shower (with 25cm access step), toilet, hand basin and heated towel rail.

Bedroom 2
This double bedroom has a King size double bed. The views are out across the trees and hill of Pentraeth and Red Wharf Bay. Hanging rail for clothes.

Bedroom 3
Bedroom 3 with pleasant views of the village has two single beds.

The modern family bathroom has a hand basin, toilet, and bath with overhead shower.

Entertainment
The dining room has a 32in TV with Freeview. There is a TV in the lounge.

Outside
The enclosed rear garden is ideal for children to play. There are two patio areas, one by the house, the other at the far end of the garden, they are designed to catch the sun whilst breakfasting outdoors or barbecuing in the evening, garden furniture is supplied.

Traeth Coch (Red Wharf Bay) – Traeth Coch is a wide sandy bay and an area of outstanding natural beauty on the east coast of the island of Anglesey in Wales. The bay is also known in English as Red Wharf Bay and lies between the villages of Pentraeth and Benllech

Moelfre Beach – Moelfre is quite a pretty little pebble beach overlooked by the village. The bay is very sheltered and the slipway makes it a popular spot for launching boats.

Lligwy Beach – Wide, sandy beach located just around the corner from the village of Moelfre. The beach of Traeth Lligwy is backed by low sand dunes giving it a wild, open feel, which is exactly what it is.

Walks on Mynydd Bodafon – Mynydd Bodafon (Bodafon Mountain) is a small collection of peaks including the Arwydd (The Sign or signal) which is the highest point on the island of Anglesey

Eat out at Panton Arms – “We booked this place as staying locally. We were two very noisy families and Dog but they couldn’t have done any more to accommodate us. Lots of very attentive staff. Great landlord on hand to make sure everyone happy. Food was very tasty and they managed to accommodate 4 fussy kids and two veggies. Good Ale. Kids steak was great. Cheesy pasta was wasted on the kids. Ice cream lovely. I would definitely go again

  • A lovely property, beautifully designed and well appointed with good quality linens. It really does feel like a home from home and is obviously the owners’ pride and joy. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable.

    A really good location for exploring the east side of the island – Red Wharf Bay, Moelfre and Benllech are all short drives away.

  • We loved it at Chapel Bank, a real home from home with lots of little touches which we appreciated like coffee pods provided. Beds were comfortable with luxurious towels. Water pressure in the showers was good, but running a bath a bit more problematic. Its a big bath and the water went cold before it was filled adequately. There are a few things which will need replacing soon, like the dishwasher, and I would be a little worried that it might pack up during my stay as it is very old! But it worked fine. The garden is lovely and super for finding a sunny spot to sit. Its great to be able to take the footpath to the beach and the dog loved it. Thank you, owners of Chapel Bank.

  • We stayed at Chapel Bank in August 2020 and found the property very comfortable and well equipped for a family of 5. The property itself had everything we needed (dishwasher/washing machine etc) and had plenty of room. The beds were comfortable too!!!

    Outside space was also great, with a nice patio area and garden.

    The location of the property was great for exploring the Island. Red Wharf Bay and Benllech were only a few minutes drive away which are both excellent for beaches.

    I would highly recommend Chapel Bank.

  • Great location for exploring the island. House itself is lovely with a big garden & patio area at the back. Only a couple of moans such as phone reception for calls is virtually zero (not owners fault its because house is in a dip). Also not a lot of storage in rooms. Hanging rail in 2 rooms out of 3, front bedroom could only use 1 rail because other was too close to wall so hangers wouldn’t fit. Also our friends had the double room at the back & they said the curtains were of no use as let in the light of early hours. That said, they are only minor moans & they wouldn’t stop us from staying here again. Would definitely recommend a stay at Chapel Bank.

  • Had a family holiday at Chapel Bank – it was everything we wanted and more. Great cottage with superb decor , which looked like some of it was locally sourced as noted on our trip to Beaumaris. Very close to beautiful beaches and good pubs and restaurants. A lovely 15-20 minute walk from the property through what we called the enchanted forest to Pentraeth beach.

  • We stayed at Chapel Bank for 4 nights. The house was clean, comfortable more than met our requirements, with modern decor throughout. Red Wharf Bay is a brisk 15 minutes walk from the cottage down a very clearly marked footpath – the bay and beach are stunning. There are many walks in the area, with a fantastic woods with lots of clearly marked walks in and around. Bangor is only a 15 minute drive away and you can visit anywhere on Anglesey without too long a drive.
    There is a local pub and Chinese takeaway, both only 5-10 mins walk away and plenty of other eating establishments within a 5-10 min drive.
    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to stay in Chapel Bank again as our son has just started at Bangor Uni! What a great excuse for a few weekends away on Anglesey!

  • We had a wonderful holiday at Chapel Bank with our daughter, son in law and their 2 children, aged 5 and 2. The house is clean and spacious. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The kids loved playing in the garden on an evening when we returned from our daily jaunts.
    Chapel Bank is perfectly situated for sightseeing on Anglesey and North Wales.

  • We have stayed here many times over the years as the house is great value for money with plenty of space for a weeks stay with the family. The location is perfect for exploring the island and it is only 10 minutes away from one of the best beaches. You can walk from the house on a path down to Red Wharf Bay. You can walk to 2 pubs in 5 minutes both serving great food. Chapel Bank is well equipped with everything you could possible need for your stay including Wifi. The owners are lovely and very helpful. There is a great welcome pack on arrival full of useful information and a guest comment book also full of great tips. There are plenty of books to read a some games along with leaflets for the attractions on the island. I would happily answer any questions on our stay at this property.

  • nice house, nice quiet location. Enjoyed walk on footpath to beach and Ship inn, food there very good but a bit pricey. Next door at the boathouse was good too. Linda
